After the Plague

The mortal races, having grown fat on their easy lives under the guidance of the gods, turned a blind eye to the growing darkness in their midst. Strong with the dissidence of mortal beings, the dark god of plagues rose from his hold and spread his influence over the land…

Many died in the first few days. None were prepared for the sickness, death, and reanimated husks of their friends and neighbors to come for them…

A decade has passed since this great cataclysm, and now you, one who was but a child when the fog destruction struck, must make your way in the world…

You will find few survivors, and fewer still who can provide you with aid upon your journey…

The world has become an unforgiving place of monsters. Creatures of myth, zombies, ghouls, and grotesque mockeries of things that once were, roam freely through the lands…

Once great cities stand abandoned, but whispers float on the winds of a cure for the plague, but none have found it…

Will it be you who stops the plague and brings life back to your world, or will you simply survive?

Half-Elves, Dwarves, Halflings, and Gnomes are the most common of races to wander free. The aforementioned under-dwellers  were better defended against the plague, but the Humans and Elves suffered to the point of near extinction; targeted for being the creations of the Plague God’s parents. To ensure neither line ended they came together where they could and breed as many halfbreeds as possible.

Design your character for this setting, and provide a background story for them. Specifically, the events directly leading up to them reaching Wildenglen Library.

*Mages- Sorcerers are more common than the mage, but both are rare.

*You may have a special weapon, jewelry, or armor as a talisman/ heirloom from home. Minor magic only.
