When I saw the offer of Game Master classes I was a bit skeptical at first. I wanted to find some guidance before starting a game for my friends, but figured that the lessons would push "edition bias". I'm glad I was wrong! Guy provided insight from his experience over many editions and kept the content about how to be an effective person, not what game you choose to play. I feel much more prepared to start running games and know I have somewhere to go with questions.

You meet 8 strangers in a noisy tavern bar and embark on an adventure -it's a trope in games, and just as fun in real life. When I saw a public event for Dungeons, Dragons, & Drafts I realized it had been almost a decade since I'd last had a TTRPG group and jumped in.
Guy provided exactly what I hoped for and then some, an insane library of minis for players to borrow from, hand-drawn maps that could change in an instant for literally any plot development, an atmospheric intro, exciting narration and NPCs/creatures, and the ability to get 7 strangers to pay more attention to the game than their drinks.
With an open public game the first roll of the dice is just showing up. You may get taken out by another player's rogue fireball (or pool of summoned acid), and the quality roleplaying depends on people being willing to take a risk. If you have a group of friends that you know will work together to both play out the story and the battles, I can't recommend Guy enough as a GM and I eagerly await the next adventure.
