Clunky rule set that may be difficult to learn for newer players. 3.5- Simplified rule set that maintains customization and a more “crunchy” play style 5e- Most notably the easiest for new players to get a grasp of streamline rule sets and mechanics at the expense of customization for characters. Genre: High Fantasy- The more “traditional” way of playing with magic and monsters, easy access to contracts and supplies. Old West- More survival based adventures in the wilderness and “lawless” lands. Less access to good supplies. Pirate- High seas adventures with environmental hazards, raids, and water based creatures being the focus Urban Fantasy- Specific city/ regional focus with greater intrigue around politics and crime. Spelljammer- Similar to Pirates but flying and space…. And weird otherworldly creatures. Style: Long Form- One overarching story that continues with each choice and session of the party. Monster of the Week- Every session is more or less an adventure of its own with very little overarching story (Great for the drop-in/ drop-out relax game) What is your experience level: Never played Single Edition, Novice Single Edition, Advanced Multiple Editions Which edition(s) 1st Edition 2nd Edition 3rd / 3.5 Edition That other one 5th Edition Another gaming system Which system(s)?What is your play style: Role Play Heavy Balanced(ish) Combat/ Tactics Heavy Are there any triggers/ phobias you would prefer were avoided? Are you okay with cross-talk at the Table: Yes Limited No What is your ideal group size: 1-5 (small intimate group with party focus able to move more swiftly through story) 6-8 (Player focused but with more power and slightly slower progression) 8+ (Very social and story driven with little forward story progress each session) Δ
